MPEGSplit Fat v1.1.1 (for 68k '040 and all PPC up to G4)

Launch MPEGSplit and open a muxed MPEG1 to rip it into 2 distinct files (audio and video).
Choose the MPEG video file you want to demux under the File menu of the MPEGSplit application.

Runs in Mac OS 7.5 through Mac OS 9.2.2
Will rip any MPEG1 video file that contains both audio and video into its separate components.
It will leave the original file alone but will create two separate files from the original source. (You will "demux" the original source).

Audio rip:  ---> filename.m1a   m1 means MPEG1 and "a" for audio
MPEG1 Video rip: ---> filename.m1v   m1 means "MPEG1" and "v" for video

At the end of the demuxing a rather nasty exit from the program can happen.
relax - the program sometimes doesn't gracefully quit at the end of its demux routines.
Just click on the processing window and you will probably get an expected error or "suddenly quit" or "unexpectedly quit" screen. That's OK. No problem.

Two files will be created from the original muxed MPEG1 movie file (an audio stream and a video stream)

Here is what to do:
Change the ripped (and now silent) MPEG video stream with the ".m1v" filename suffix to the usual .mpeg or .mpg. You can also change the file type and creator to:
Type: MPEG
Creator: TVOD

This will automatically have the usual QuickTime Player open and play the file.

Then change the audio stream filename (the file with the ".m1a") to
a filename with the ".mp2" suffix. You should also set the type and creator
codes to some application that can open and play the audio content.
A good type and creator code to use is:
Type: MPG2
Creator: SCPL

This will let SoundApp open and play the file or you can use SoundApp to convert the audio file to any other audio you like (AIF, WAV, whatever...)

An easy to use "drag and drop" type/creator utility is included here for you to use.
Simply drag and drop any file on it to set its type/creator codes.

SoundApp is also included here so you can listen and play and/or convert the ripped audio file.
